New feature (sort of) at CE Online

For a limited time only! Attack your own planets and establish new home colonies! w00t!

Well, sort of. The story is best told here.

An actual screenshot sent by one of Blogmic's Bothan spies is shown above. I find it sort of intriguing. There's not a lot I haven't done at CE Online, but I can definitely say I've never attacked one of my own planets.

Aww, no fair, I discovered the self-attack a few days ago. I guess you didn't get the forum link I sent. It produced some interesting side-effects. It was Laser Vs. Laser. I invited one player, but instead the game gave my invitation to someone else. He allied with me, and the game sent 4 of his ships to offense AND defense, creating 4 ships from scratch (unfortunately did not see if they disappeared after). Offensive Laser blinded the defense, but offense wasn't blinded. Although I chose one pod, it played a completely different one, so maybe I was blinded afterall; it just didn't say. Afterwards, the pod I selected, another pod (my highest), and EC all disappeared and were replaced by random other pods. Unfortunately, EC did not activate. I totally wanted to play it just so I could say, "b4b?" to myself.
Anyway, this is one of the cooler bugs I've seen, and I've been in games where there were two of the same alien, disappearing ships, etc.

By the way, Toomai, if you read this, did you have the chance to play EC, or did yours disappear, too? If you played it, what happened?

Later is the sequence of screenshots, it shows him with a new base after the offense "won," 19-10. There doesn't appear to have been the same sort of weirdness you describe.

The turn went like this - after I got over the weirdness and decided to do something, I chose the planet and sent my ship. Didn't ask for allies (if nothing else, to stop them from getting free stuff on the defense - who knows what could happen). Waitied a bit and got told that the timer for inviting allies was up. Played the 15, both motherships launched pods. Waited a while and then it said my 10 auto-launched. Offense reveals 15, defense reveals 10. EC starts glowing as usual - if I'd have known this glitch was on the move, I would have played it to find out what happens. Instead, I let it slide, and the offense won and got a third home colony.

I doubt this is related, but I had two Parasites in a game today. IT wasn't a "join in progress" situation. I was in the Parasite's room, and chose the option to have the room alien in the game. Didn't expect two of him though. It would have been kind of cool, except that it was buggish. The game ran very slowly, and would not let me Infest on any challenge where the other Parasite was involved.

When JOIN first appeared, that was the sort of thing that would always mess things up. The "double-alien" weirdness appeared to have been pretty much squashed, though, so this latest development is somewhat of a surprise.

The Room Alien double alien bug was supposed to be quashed. They recently put in some new code for Join, and it seems to have caused some new problems... or in this case, revived some old problems. At least these bugs are entertaining.
